London, gigs - back in the real world...
Or is it? Having had nearly five blissful weeks of sunshine in Devon I've returned to a very rainy London. It's like a different planet. Quite a shock. I thought I might at least be able to top up the tan - honestly, I know I've had quite a few doubters on that front but I really was golden brown - but no such luck. I shall have to investigate other methods...
Gigs on the cards this coming week. MONDAY at The Halo Bar, 317 Battersea Park Road. WEDNESDAY at The Spice of Life, Cambridge Circus. Full details on the gigs page - come on down. Having been out of gig circulation in Devon I'm really looking forward to a bit of a run out. Hope you can make it.
My fab six year old niece told me a very good joke. Two mind readers bumped into each other and one said - "Hey, you're fine, how am I?" I reckon she must be a genius to understand that concept - well, she is seven a week on Saturday.
Other than that, not much to report. I'm trying hard to get into self reflective mode. I have to write a self reflective account of my time at The Guildhall. It's the very last piece of work I have to submit for my Masters. All I can think of at the moment is the beach and ice cream and I don't think that is going to do it. Still, it has to be done in the next week as I'm off to France a week on Saturday - a new venue for the Mediterranean Jazz Summer School and I'm assisting the most fabulous singing tutor team of Liane Carroll and Ian Shaw. Not bad, eh? Really looking forward to it, although it feels odd that I won't be able to pop across the road to my other fave place, Le Couvent in Roujan to hang out with my buddies. Still, always fun to investigate a new place.
Have fun in the... rain.
