Great gig at Ashton Golf Club

A whole lot of new tunes, a band on top form and a great audience. Oh, and great food too. Can't be bad. It was a great evening and huge thanks to Dan Whieldon on piano, Gavin Barras on bass and Danny Ward on drums. It was great to be playing with the Manchester posse again and to meet Danny Ward for the first time who certainly came up trumps. I love doing new material and I think there was only one tune which I had ever sung at a gig before - a big test for the memory with all the new words but it seemed to go swimmingly. Watch out for the new repertoire at upcoming gigs.

Talking of which, don't forget WIGAN JAZZ CLUB on Sunday May 27th. This is a lunchtime gig and the Dan, Gavin and Jonas Trio, now christened The Whackabas Trio after the launch of their debut album, and myself will be joined by superb guitarist Mike Walker.
